gilli's finely crafted
songwriting style weaves through moods of sensuality - physical desires - lust
- joy - sorrow - innocent wonder and carnal knowledge - endless possibilities
of emotion and passion. Lyrical content, mixed with beautifully textured
layers of instrumentation and intensely driven vocals, kept the audience's
focus on the
stage - not the usual business of a crowded club.
gilli splatters
paint on the clear canvas - subtle,
gentle strokes in the beginning that
follow with wide sweeps as she creates
a portrait for the audience to view.
Every aspect of this performance is
about being at one with the audience.
Being at one with her band, at one
with herself. A truly amazing feat in a
city where over inflated egos rule and
to witness such humility of raw talent
is so refreshing! Perhaps that's why gilli doesn't like to take too much
credit
for herself and truly appreciates the
professional musicians who
accompany her.

LOOSEYLUCY'S HEADQUARTERS
While you can hear a hint of Tori Amos influence to her music, Gilli Moon
does not fit into the mold of the typical female singer/pianist. Her
auto-biographical, ExtraOrdinary Life, is a testament to her life thus
far and a showcase of her own groovy style of alternative/R&B music. The
production is excellent, and the songs are beautifully arranged. Gilli even
picks up the didgeridoo, beat boxes, and sings a version of her song, "Bye Is
Such A Lonely Word" in Italian. Album highlights include a spoken word
piece, "Deconstruction," the catchy "Evolution," "Little Boy Lost," and the
pop/surf-influenced, "The Wind." The enhanced CD format has a video with
interview, live performance, and music video clips as well as a slideshow
featuring pictures and music of Gilli. ExtraOrdinary Life is possibly
one of the best independently released albums of late 2005.

"Every so often an
artist exceeds expectations. They create a piece of work that is so
exquisite, it’s breathtaking. gilli moon has taken that quantum leap with
her latest album, extraOrdinary life.
...it’s a beautiful expedition of emotions and stories that comfort, excite
and inspire. Indeed, after hearing the songs presented on this record, you
wouldn’t be faulted if “you” also wanted to lead - an extraordinary life."
