LINDA BONADIES:
KARMA

May 5, 2010- Connecticut based Singer/Songwriter, Linda Bonadies, spreading great “KARMA” through new album.

Singer/Songwriter, Linda Bonadies, spreads great “KARMA” as she releases her second album.  Compared to Carole King over and over again, Bonadies is a classic songwriter with messages that deeply penetrate and inspire. Sub-titled “What You Do Comes Back To You,”  ‘KARMA’ is a concept album, an inspirational message, and a window into the songwriter’s soul all wrapped into one.

The title track is an upbeat, Michelle Branch-type, feel-good song.  Its positive bounce not only sets the tone for this CD but its message that life acts as a circle becomes a musical and conceptual theme for  Bonadies as well.  The CD begins with upbeat songs.  “Writing positive and inspiring songs doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to write  sugary sweet, Disney-type songs,” explains Bonadies.  “I try to write  about truths which include both the struggles and the joys of life.”     In the middle she veers away toward more complicated subject matters but then circles back to the positive and uplifting, cleverly spinning a surprising and exciting grande finale!

Linda Bonadies’ work is classic songwriting at its best following such timeless masters as Carole King, Elton John and Billy Joel.

Trained as a composer, Linda Bonadies earned a degree from Bucknell University and went on to pursue a Graduate Degree in Music Composition from Hartt School of Music.    She worked as Associate Director of Marketing for The Bushnell Performing Arts Center for 6 years and then became a full time mom.  Years later Bonadies rediscovered her musical “voice” as a Singer/Songwriter.  Her first album “No Regret” met with much critical acclaim receiving Front Page feature on CD Baby and winning honors in many songwriting competitions including the Indie Acoustic Project, the Pacific Songwriting Competition, and the Unisong International Songwriting Contest.  Bonadies has just released her second album “Karma”  (2010).  

Linda’s outstanding  musicianship is fortified by her powerful experience of rediscovering herself and her music during mid-life.  She sounds like she has found a friend that she never intends to lose again.  

  “I love the title to this CD because “Karma” is a spiritual term and  my music and overall message is deeply connected with the spirit, the  soul, the heart,” explains Bonadies.  “I lost music in my life for 15 years.  I became very sad and lost.  It wasn’t until I was at a very low point that I finally was able to hear the voice of my heart telling me that I needed to write songs and sing them. I had to turn down the volume of my head with all of its voices telling me that I was too old, or not good enough and turn up the volume of my heart.  Now I am a spokeswoman for the voice of the heart.  The voice of the head generally overpowers the voice of the heart in today’s society.  We need to bolster up this other voice and make it stronger because this is the voice that not only lets us dream our dreams, but this is the voice that connects us all to each other. This album is a celebration of the spirit and the voice of the heart.“
